This is the fun part. Making money. The entire point of the website is to monetize. You can have a million visitors every day, but if your monetization system is off, you could be leaving thousands at the table. Play your cards right, and you could turn as little as 200 visitors per day into a full time revenue. How? By picking the system that’s right for your website.
There are two basic ways to make money with your website: affiliate marketing and selling ad space. Mix and match until you have a winning combination. Most websites use two or three of the methods listed below.
1. Sell a Product
Believe it or not, you can sell your own product. You can literally publish your own product, and ship it to customers, setting up a traditional shop…only your store front is a website.
The great thing about this is that it doesn’t require an actual physical product. You don’t have to manage with “hard” inventory. It can be … information. If you offer information or knowledge that only 1% of people are willing to buy, then you can make thousands selling your own infoproduct. It might be an email based course on dating, an ebook about gardening…anything you want. You decide.
Along the same lines as above, you can also sell your skills as a product. Freelance writing, consultation, the lists are endless. I won’t focus much time on this, because you already know what you’re capable of.
Through the use of affiliate programs , you can let someone else do all of the work for you. Find a product/service relevant to the topic of your website…then shoot for it. You don’t even have to do most of the work. Just look into affiliate marketing.
Remember, never be afraid to experiment. I “accidentally” made over a thousand with thoughtless affiliate program. Of course, if you test enough products you’ll find the perfect one for your website.

2. Sell Ads
No matter where you go these days, you’ll see ads everywhere. In line at Wal-Mart, in magazines, on TV, on the highway, on websites…everywhere. Companies are willing to pay money in order for potential customers hear what they have to offer. Every opportunity can be cashed in.
Selling an advertisement slot can be incredibly easy, and you can get started within 24 hours. Once you get your website set up, check out AdSense, the Google advertising network. You can put relevant text-based ads all over your website. You’ll be paid a small amount of money every time someone clicks on the advertisement.
The money you’ll make per ad click completely depends on the topic your website is about. If your website is about credit cards, you can literally make $10 per click, though this is the highest it gets. Most clicks earn $.50 or so. This might not sound like much, but if you have thousands of visitors a day, the money certainly adds up.
The Secret to Making Money is…
…there is no secret to making money. I know, I’m kind of a party-pooper, but regardless of the hype, making money with a website is still as stimple as CTPM… content -> traffic -> presell -> monetize. Create great content, and the traffic will come. When the traffic comes, build a relationship and gain credibility. Then cash in and monetize on that trust you have built. CTPM .
This is the foundation of making money online, period. Understanding it will literally put you years ahead of the competition, and can change your life.
